My 2 cents worth is that temperatures, all the way from the Arctic to the tropics, have fluctuated cyclically for millions of years, but the overall long-term net trend is a cooling off of the earth.
It turns out that CO2 is a tiny percentage of the earth’s atmosphere and the man-made CO2 component is even more minute (see illustration). It appears we have been duped into believing in fraudulent science when water vapour is the massively predominant greenhouse gas on this planet.
CO2 levels, although historically low, and arguably even dangerously low, rise as a result of any warming of the earth and particularly of the sea. This is the exact reverse effect of what the climate alarmists claim.
A huge irony is that the current climate panic is that the Earth is colder today than it was 250 million years before the Ice Age began. And CO2 is lower now than it has been in more than 95 per cent of Earth’s history.
The world has been cooling down for the last 400 years. When people claim that the Earth is warming it’s all about when you start the measurement. If you look at the last 38 years there has been zero change in temperature.
If you look at the last 150 years we have had 3 warming periods and 3 cooling periods with a total warming of 0.6% Celsius. And why did it warm 0.6 degrees – well actually, mainly because of the fact that 1850 was the end of the Little Ice Age and that is a very convenient starting point for anyone wanting to promote the hoax.
However, if we care to take the measurement from medieval times we have actually cooled 5 degrees. Same too from Roman times – a cooling of 5 degrees! – and the moral of the story – as soon as a Swedish brat or anyone else throws up their hands and tells you the planet is warming, you should ask them a very simple question – SINCE WHEN?
“But you’ll never know that if you listen to all those who profit from the lie that the Earth is about to get too hot for life and that CO2 will be higher than in the entire history of the Earth,” said Patrick Moore, co-founder of Greenpeace.
There were some interesting observations (see link) from Dr Jay H Lehr, Science Director from the Heartland Institute, made at the Conference on Climate Change in Washington DC back in 2017.
Sadly this internationally renowned speaker and scientist passed away in January 2023. I don’t know whether there were any suspicious circumstances relating to his death.
One thing is for sure though, he was a very likeable, genuine and gifted orator who simply refused to parrot the mainstream narratives. All in all an extremely brave man.
